Overview
This policy explains how Lantern Ferry collects, uses, and protects information when merchants use the Lantern Ferry Shopify app and public website.
Information We Collect
We collect only data needed to operate the app and improve service quality.
- Shop information: shop domain, shop name, timezone, currency, and owner email.
- Catalog information: product and collection metadata required for content generation workflows.
- Operational data: job status, usage events, and generated asset metadata.
- Website waitlist data: email addresses submitted through the early-access form.
How We Use Information
- Provide app features such as catalog sync, draft generation, and usage tracking.
- Maintain service reliability, prevent abuse, and debug operational issues.
- Contact waitlist users about product availability and onboarding.
Data Sharing
Lantern Ferry does not sell merchant or user data. Data is shared only with service providers required to run the product (for example hosting and infrastructure providers), subject to confidentiality and security controls.
Data Retention and Deletion
- App uninstall and compliance webhook requests are handled through Shopify webhook endpoints.
- Shop-level deletion requests received via Shopify
shop/redactare processed by deleting stored shop records and associated data. - Lantern Ferry does not currently store storefront customer records; customer compliance requests are still acknowledged and processed per Shopify requirements.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect stored data, including access controls and encrypted transport over HTTPS.
