This policy explains how Lantern Ferry collects, uses, and protects information when merchants use the Lantern Ferry Shopify app and public website.

Information We Collect

We collect only data needed to operate the website and app, understand usage, and improve service quality.

Shop information: shop domain, shop name, timezone, currency, and owner email.
Catalog information: product and collection metadata required for content generation workflows.
Operational data: job status, usage events, and generated asset metadata.
Generation inputs: product details, brand guidance, prompts, and selected images needed to produce requested outputs.
Website analytics: page views, referral information, device details, and similar usage data when analytics is enabled.
Support data: email addresses and message details you send us for support or account questions.

How We Use Information

Provide app features such as catalog sync, draft generation, and usage tracking.
Maintain service reliability, prevent abuse, and debug operational issues.
Understand which public resources are useful and improve website navigation and content.
Respond to merchant support, onboarding, billing, and account questions.

Data Sharing

Lantern Ferry does not sell merchant or user data. Data is shared only with service providers required to run the product, including Shopify, hosting and infrastructure providers, analytics providers when enabled, and AI service providers used to generate requested outputs. These providers receive only the information needed for the applicable service and are subject to their contractual and security obligations.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website and app may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and audience measurement. Analytics is used only when it is configured for the public website.

Data Retention and Deletion

App uninstall and compliance webhook requests are handled through Shopify webhook endpoints.
Shop-level deletion requests received via Shopify shop/redact are processed by deleting stored shop records and associated data.
Lantern Ferry does not currently store storefront customer records; customer compliance requests are still acknowledged and processed per Shopify requirements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect stored data, including access controls and encrypted transport over HTTPS.
